Way To Keep The "Woods" In Woodside. The
Town's Open Space Committee will soon be rewarding residents
who encourage wildlife and native landscapes on their
property. The Backyard Habitat program aims to promote
the creation of corridors and pockets of land left in
its natural state, where native vegetation can thrive
and wildlife can move and forage freely through the
Town.
Woodside
sits in the midst of one of the most diverse and important
ecosystems on earth, and following
the Backyard Habitat program's guidelines
will help to protect and preserve it for generations
to come. The idea is to embrace and utilize the natural beauty
of our region in our landscaping
plans, creating a seamless transition between our homes and
the magnificent open space
which surrounds them.
